Nice wide path alongside the canal. There's enough space here for four bikes abreast, so if you're riding with a friend and someone else is riding with a friend in the opposite direction it doesn't cause a problem. Pedestrians and dog walkers have another path the other side of the ditch to the right in the photo.
Note also the demographics of cycling in the Netherlands. The two women at the front are of pension age and out for a spin on a Sunday afternoon. Following closely behind is a young couple with a baby on the bike, followed by a middle-aged couple. Everyone cycles here.
This path is 4 metres wide.
