This narrow marked cycle track, hugging the kerb around the corner between Chesterton Rd and Hawthorn Way is very poor. The recommended clearance to the kerb (1.5m TA 90/05) is greater than the marked width of this cycle track !
In view of the amount of pavement space available here this is a very poor facility. The lane markings should be removed and replaced by an unsegregated, shared pavement for those who wish to use the pavement.
More importantly, Chesterton Road should be improved for cycing, to reduce the call for pavement facilities.
