Cycle route signs for:
- Canterbury High School (Turn left and briefly uphill and across the bridge);
- Westgate Gardens (Turn right, downhill);
- Canterbury West railway station (Turn right, downhill);
Canterbury City Centre is reached by following the National Cycle Route 1 signs to the right towards Westgate Gardens. This will meet the city centre near the historic Westgate Towers.
To follow National Cycle Route 1 towards Fordwich, Sandwich, Deal, and Dover turn right. Also follow this route to reach Regional Cycle Route 16.
To follow National Cycle Route 1 towards Whitstable, Faversham, Sittingbourne, London, and turn left.
To follow National Cycle Route 18 via the Great Stour Way riverside cycle route about turn and pass under the main road bridge. The Great Stour Way continues traffic-free to Chartham, then NCR18 follows quiet roads to Wye, Ashford, Tenterden, and Royal Tunbridge Wells.
To reach Wincheap about turn and follow the Great Stour Way signs, then follow the signs towards Wincheap.
