Cycle route signs towards:
- Westgate Gardens (About turn to cycle there, or walk through the gate just beyond this sign to walk into the gardens which are the other side of the wall);
- Canterbury West railway station (About turn, then continue straight ahead along the road);
- Wincheap (Turn right, uphill);
- Great Stour Way, the traffic-free riverside cycle path to the village of Chartham which forms part of National Cycle Route 18. NCR18 can be followed beyond Chartham on quiet roads to reach Wye, Ashford, Tenterden, and Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Follow NCR1 behind, in the direction of Westgate Gardens, to reach Fordwich, Sandwich, Deal, and Dover, and to connect with Regional Cycle Routes 16 and 17 (via RCR16).
Follow NCR1 uphill to the right to follow the Crab & Winkle Way to Whitstable and beyond to Faversham, Sittingbourne, London, and further.
