UPDATE 2022 The horse steps have been removed by a local. twitter.com/Cyclinstructor/status/1608128620769288192 Most people are now using this path rather than the A frame access . THE A FRAME NEEDS REMOVING STILL also a bollard central to the path to stop motor cars. Still here in 2021 .. Carrington Lane A6144 Entrance to Trans Pennine Trail off-road section into Dainewell Woods from A6144. The access barriers comprise horse steps and an A frame barrier. The width of the A frame at the top is only 36cm , at handlebar 110cm height it's 55cm . The horse steps would not stop a 4x4 as it's 220cm wide ! Their purpose is not displayed thereby compromising any prosecution of any unlawful use of the trail by off road motorbiking or 4x4 use. twitter.com/Cyclinstructor/status/1422236867018244096 Needs a bollard at the horse path entrance to keep gap to approx 1.5 metres (a gap sufficient to prevent unauthorised motor car access.
