Straßburger Str. subway was built in the 1990's to allow cars and buses to pass underneath the railway tracks right at Oldenburg Main Station. Note that the segregated cycleway goes less steep and deep than cars and busses (it is the opposite with light bridge, e.g. Coldhams Lane bridge).
