Stainless steel cycle racks - end ones have a tapping rail so that people with visual impairments using a stick can detect them.

I think these handle shaped wall fixings are for bikes.

Pump and work stand in front of Norbiton station, but it’s still wrong that so much of the prime forecourt space is given to motor vehicle storage!

A £25 refundable deposit gives you access to this covered secure cycle parking compound. It seems to be an excellent facility, and there is generally quite a lot of cycle parking on this side of the station - from where city-bound trains leave.

Signs indicate need for cycle parking and there's some dead space here.

The cycle lane here is pleasingly wide, but narrows very significantly further up the hill.

Cars accelerate to overtake in a race to get to the pinch point first.

The road sign 'YOUR SPEED' momentarily displays the speed of oncoming vehicles in mph. It then switches to a happy if the recorded speed is less than or equal to 30 mph, otherwise a sad smiley is shown, as here.

Highway engineers can't resist the temptation to place a massive pillar on the track of a cycleway.

This is the 'cycleway' parallel to the A3, squeezing past this bridge ramp next to some sharp edged barrier supports.

This is yet another bridge which is virtually impossible to take wheeled items over - not just bikes, but wheelchairs, pushchairs, bike trailers. The mentallity which drives the design of such monster structures seems to have one thing only in their mind - lets stop teenagers having some fun on their bikes.

The bridge is only easily passable by able-bodied walkers.
